Who is responsible?

Liam Winder is the controller of personal information collected through this personal portfolio. It is separate from Innovate UK/UKRI. Contact me using the contact form or LinkedIn, including for privacy requests. If the form is unavailable, use LinkedIn as the alternative route.

What is collected and why?

The form collects your name, email address and message so I can read and respond to your correspondence. The hosting and spam-prevention services may also process technical information such as your IP address. Please do not send confidential, sensitive or funding-application information. Providing your details is voluntary, but the required fields are needed to send a message and receive a reply.

Lawful basis and use

I rely on legitimate interests: responding to correspondence you choose to send and keeping the website secure. Your details are not used for mailing lists, sold, or passed to UKRI through this form. There is no automated decision-making about you. This website has no advertising or analytics trackers and uses locally hosted fonts.

Netlify and other recipients

Netlify hosts the website and processes form submissions, including spam filtering, on my behalf. Messages are available to me through the Netlify dashboard; if private notifications are enabled, copies may also be handled by the selected email provider. Netlify and its service providers may process data outside the UK. Its data processing agreement sets out transfer safeguards, including contractual protections for UK data; see also its privacy statement. LinkedIn is a separate service with its own privacy terms.

Retention

Contact messages and associated replies are normally deleted within six months of the last correspondence. A longer period may be necessary to meet a legal obligation or address a specific unresolved matter; information is kept only for as long as that reason requires. Deletion covers dashboard submissions and any notification copies under my control.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, erasure or restriction of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Portability applies where the legal conditions are met. Send a request through the contact form or LinkedIn; you do not need special wording.
