Keep it to yourself: The first rule of business
The first rule of pursuing your own business is; keep it to yourself. I’m all for shouting from the rooftops and telling the world “I made this” but it needs to be at the right time. Putting yourself out there too early can force you to move quickly and stick to something you may have otherwise quit, safe in the knowledge that no one knows you failed.
Your ducks will never be in a row, keeping it to yourself is not an excuse to do nothing, but rather a fleeting thought to have in your mind as you are about to announce to your boss that you are launching a new green airline, or announcing to your in-laws over Xmas dinner that you are now free from the grind. They may not be as pleased for you as you think.
Do your research, start something, fail, fail again and then fail some more.
